Necessity Of Arthroscopic Procedure
Joint abnormalities are caused by diseases, accidents, and fractures etc. These joint deformities may lead to pain, stiffness, redness, swelling, weakness and limitation of motion. Treatments depend on a thorough medical history- from present illness to past medical history, health check-up, and conventional x-ray examination. Despite of, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as well as computed tomography (CT) is also used to get more detail about breaks, fractures, and diseases.
Using the arthroscope more accurate and final diagnosis is made than open surgery or X-ray studies. Some of the most commonly observed conditions found during examinations of joints are:

What Happens During The Arthroscopy Procedure?
Arthroscopy treatment begins while the patient asleep under general anesthesia. The type of anesthesia will depend on the discussion that patient have with an anesthesiologist. In an arthroscopic surgery, Doctors will clean the skin over the surgical area with an antiseptic solution. Thereafter, a small incision is made to insert the arthroscope in joint area. Depending on the joint or suspected problem; many other incisions can be done to insert other instruments in order to visualize other parts of the joint. The Camera connected to the arthroscope allows the surgeon to look inside the joint, figure out the problem, and decide what type of surgery is needed. Once the required procedure is completed, the arthroscope is pulled out and the incisions will be closed with stitches or adhesive strips. A sterile bandage or dressing is placed over the incision.
